She also completes our in-house repairs, checks hearing aids, and provides advice regarding hearing aid use and their features. Jenna Madden - Reception Services
Jenna is the bright face that greets you. She can assist with client inquiries, appointment schedules, administrative support, and showing you where the cool refreshments are! Jenna loves helping out when there are extra children to attend to whilst waiting for a sibling to be tested. She is a keen sailor and traveller, so if the wind is up, chances are that Jenna would rather be doing it on water than on land.
Sue Walmsley - Audiology Director
Sue is our senior audiologist with 20 years of experience. Sue completed a Bachelor of Speech Therapy with first class honours in the mid 1980's and commenced work with the National Acoustic Laboratories at a Brisbane Hearing Centre. Sue relocated to Rockhampton in the late 1980's to establish the Rockhampton Hearing Centre and established her private practice, Central Queensland Audiology in 1993. Since that time Sue's clients have witnessed the growth of her family with time being taken out for child rearing from time to time. Sue loves that clients regularly ask after her children and all express amazement at how time flies! Sue's particular interests are in adult hearing aid fitting and rehabilitation and balance assessment. The introduction of universal screening to Central Queensland has also added the challenge of assessing new born babies and getting a few more baby cuddles in per day!
Sara Morin - Audiologist
Sara hails originally from British Columbia, Canada (hence the funny accent) and completed her undergraduate degree in Vancouver. Sara completed a Masters Degree in Audiology in 2000 at University of Queensland and joined Central Queensland Hearing the following year. She devotes most of her time to hearing aid clients but enjoys doing central processing testing and diagnostic testing also. Sara travels to Mackay and Yeppoon regularly to provide services there. Despite her hectic schedule she still finds time to keep fit and partake in a myriad of hobbies - ask her what they are sometime and you'd be surprised!
Nerida Maclean - Audiologist
Nerida is an audiologist who hails from Sydney originally. Nerida has completed her Masters Degree in Audiology and she has extensive experience working in diagnostic clinics. Upon graduation, Nerida worked for Australian Hearing in Sydney and later joined Macquarie University based at Westmead Hospital where her interest in balance testing was extended. Luckily for us, Nerida headed north for a sea change and now enjoys a less hectic pace providing services at our Gladstone office 3 days a week and in Rockhampton once a fortnight. Nerida also is a seafaring lassie and enjoys the taste of salt on a weekend.
Howard Walmsley - Audiologist
Howard is our most recent graduate in audiology. In his previous life he had been an academic for 23 years in the area of physical education and earned a doctrate in 1999. After receiving his PhD, what better time to contemplate a major career change, Howard decided that dinner time conversation was a little one sided and decided to join his wife in the life of audiology. He completed his Masters Degree in Audiology in 2005. Howard now finds dinner conversation more balanced and thoroughly enjoys his new career. Howard's interests are in adult rehabilitation, hearing conservation and noise management. And yes, Howard also enjoys sailing but snow skiing would be the first love followed closely by golf - but don't ask the handicap.
Gloria Mulholland - Practice Manager
Gloria is our back room engine that ensures the smooth workings out front. She has held many administrative positions in her career. As the cheque writer, Gloria can assist in matters financial when they effect our clients and service delivery. Gloria is responsible for customer service quality and ensuring that our high standards are maintained. From time to time Gloria may be found assisting at the front counter or over the phone. Gloria can also help with minor hearing aid repairs. Gloria's beautiful nails and hair preclude sailing, but she does enjoy watching tennis played by true professionals.
